Care to make a dill?
Pickle puns aside, A Dill With The Devil is a lighthearted packaging project that brings together Satan and pickled cucumbers. I first came up with this play on words working on my EAT THE RICH! hot sauces, but had no use for it in that context. Besides, it’s too good a pun for it to just be a one off sauce title.
My first order of business in making this brand and packaging a reality was sacrificing a virgin. Then I started with creating the mascot; the Devil.

With a little red guy repping his love for pickles, the next step was surprisingly difficult. Where the hell do I put him on the packaging? I shuffled through three ideas to get it right. At first I wanted him hanging over the text itself. I slightly altered that idea to have him over a giant pickle, which would then house the text. But that took up too much space and looked awkward. So I went back to the drawing board to have him now peaking out from a vertical text lockup rocking a new hairdo and a devilishly wicked grin.
